New CEO for CMC Foundation
Matt Spencer, the incoming CEO of the Colorado Mountain College Foundation, was one of the guests at a recent retirement barbecue for Alexandra Yajko, who retired after 33 years of service to the college, 20 as director of the college's foundation. Spencer joins the college's fundraising arm from the Vail Valley Foundation, where he served as director and then vice president of membership and development. The CMC Foundation administers approximately 90 privately funded scholarships and provides fundraising support for capital and other projects of the college. Over the past two decades, the foundation raised more than $33 million to assist the college and its students.
Bruce-Floersch wedding
Hap and Cindy Bruce of Basalt are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter Whitney Wood Bruce to Mark Floersch of Chicago. They were married June 12, 2010, in La Romana, Dominican Republic. Eighty-two family and friends arrived from all over the country to enjoy the Caribbean waters and celebrate with Whitney and Mark. Whitney was attended by her sister, Jenna Bruce, and bridesmaids Laura Pietrzak and Vanessa Carter from Aspen, and Kelly Olsick from Washington, D.C. Mark's brother Stephen Floersch was his best man, with groomsmen Ted Thilman and Patrick Baker from Chicago and Andy Davis from Tennessee. Mark grew up in Winnetka and graduated from Miami of Ohio. Whitney was born and grew up in the Roaring Fork Valley, her parents being longtime locals. Whitney graduated from Elon University in North Carolina. Mark was working at The Gant and Whitney at Nuages when they met in 2004. After their honeymoon in St. John they returned to their residence in Chicago. Mark works for CB Richard Ellis as a commercial real estate broker and Whitney is an accountant executive with Williams-Labadie.
