The Carbondale Clay Center welcomes new director Lauren Kearns and artist-in-residence Janice Jakielski with an exhibition that runs though October.



Colorado Mountain College's professional photography program faculty and staff present "On Focus," featuring photography ranging from wildlife photos to commercial art by Lindsey Constance, Jim Elliott, Scot Gerdes, Klaus Kocher, Buck Mills and Joe Swift. The show features and runs through Nov. 4 at the CMC Gallery, 831 Grand Ave.



Redstone's annual Fall Art Walk runs through Nov. 15 in Redstone. This year's theme is "Painters of the Crystal Valley." Nine properties on Redstone Boulevard are showing the paintings of 10 artists every day. Guests can pick up their guides at the Redstone Inn.



The "Fashion of Politics" show to benefit the Stepstone Center is seeking volunteers for Saturday, Oct. 30, at the Carbondale Community School. Models will strut down the runway wearing fashion from local artists and community members, geared towards wearable statements on the environment, elections, lifestyles, local issues and more. Participate by creating your own wearable political statement for the runway. Information or to help with organization: 963-3483.

Local watercolorist Pat Winters' work is on display through October at Main Street Gallery in Glenwood Springs.



The inaugural "Artists for Peace" art installation and exhibit runs Oct. 15-30 at the Carbondale Council on Arts and Humanities Arts Annex in Carbondale. The show is a mixed-media, juried show. A schedule of events follows: Thursday, Oct. 28 - "The Artist's Role in Effecting Social Change" by the Roaring Fork Peace Coalition. Information: 963-1680 7 p.m. Oct. 30 - Music for Peace night, featuring local musicians and poets.
