KAFM Radio Room continues its quest to be the best acoustic showcase on the Western Slope.
The Williams Brothers and Donny Morales will perform seperately and together at KAFM's Radio Room on Saturday. It will be something of a homecoming for James Williams, who used to be the music director at KAFM.
The Williams Brothers blend acoustic rock and funk with a little blues and a touch of the free spirit of a jam band to create a unique sound. Donny Morales can go from a ballad that will break your heart to a soul-shaking blues that is singular in its power.
"We are very excited that James and Phil Williams will be appearing with Donny Morales," said Radio Room Manager John Anglim. "Anyone who has followed the music scene on the Western Slope, and particularly in and around Grand Junction, should be quite familiar with both these acts. To have them together on one evening at the Radio Room will be a special treat."
"The Radio Room recently reached another landmark in its growth and development," said Anglim, "We were especially pleased to be able to do a live broadcast of the sold out Sweet Sunny South Concert on Nov. 12th. That means, in addition to our local listening audience, people all over the world were able to tune in and hear a concert originating in Grand Junction. We think that's pretty great for our station and our town."
The station plans to make such live broadcasts a regular feature of the concert series at the Radio Room.
