Angel Project is offering a free new kitchen to someone in need

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. — A Good Samaritan in Glenwood Springs wants to give away a brand new kitchen. Tom Fleming, a local businessman and gourmet chef, just bought a new condo in town and wants to remodel the kitchen. But instead of sending all the pieces of the kitchen to the landfill, Fleming would like a deserving person or family to have a new kitchen, and thanks to the Angel Project it will be installed for free.

The kitchen includes counters, oak cabinets, flooring, a dish washer, stove, refrigerator and sink.

Angel and Glenwood Springs Realtor Donna Fell has taken on the challenge and is looking for someone to give it to, someone for whom the kitchen "would make a difference," she said.

The lucky recipient will be a family or elderly couple who own their own home and who have a limited income or a special need, Fell said.

Fell began the Angel Project three years ago as a way to help people who cannot afford to remodel a room in their home, or even a whole house. Last summer she enlisted the help of fellow Athena leadership award winners to remodel an entire house in Silt.

Over the past three years, the Angel Project has given donated furniture and carpeting to people in need throughout the valley.

Anyone interested in qualifying for the brand new kitchen should call Fell before Dec. 5 at 945-7300.
