Authorities are still looking in the cause of a one-car rollover that killed a Rifle man early Saturday morning.
Neal Martinez, 30, died when he lost control of the black Dodge CrewCab pickup he was driving on Silt Mesa Road. According to the Colorado State Patrol, Martinez was driving south on Silt Mesa Road when the vehicle went off the right side of the road and rolled.
"It's still under investigation," said State Patrol Sgt. David Kucera.
Investigators had not yet determined on Monday if either excessive speed or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash, Kucera said.
Martinez, the only occupant in the vehicle, was wearing a seatbelt and was not ejected.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by Garfield County Coroner Trey Holt of injuries sustained in the accident.
Martinez was taken to Grand Junction for an autopsy Monday.
Rifle Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements. Martinez was to be taken to Denver for services, a funeral home spokeswoman said.
