Mayne graduates from the Air Force Academy

Air Force 2nd Lt. Dustin R. Mayne has graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. The graduate received a bachelor of science degree and was commissioned as a second lieutenant.

He is the son of David Ross Mayne of Gypsum and a 1999 graduate of Eagle Valley High School.





New baby boy

Jason and Karen Birmingham of New Castle are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Ethan Curtis Birmingham, at 1:27 p.m. July 3, 2007, at Valley View Hospital. He weighed 8 pounds, 11 ounces, and was 211Ú4 inches long at birth.

Proud grandparents are Kit and Barb Birmingham of Big Pine, Calif., and Irv and Edna Weiss of Las Vegas.





Celebrate with Wayne and Pearl Jewell

Wayne and Pearl Jewell were married November 17, 1957, and are celebrating that union from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, August 25 at the Rifle Senior Center, 50 Ute Avenue in Rifle. They wish family and friends to join them in the joyous occasion.

Their daughter, Darla Jewell, is hosting the event. Please, no gifts. Cards are welcomed.



Snyder - Lindauer wedding

Shane and Michele Snyder of Rifle would like to announce the engagement of their daughter, Lyndsey Alyse Snyder, to Dylan Lafayette Lindauer, son of Gerald and Zoe Lindauer of Parachute.

Lyndsey, a 2005 graduate of Rifle High School and Dylan, a 2005 graduate of Grand Valley High School, are both enrolled at Montana State University for the fall semester.

The wedding will take place August 18 in Rifle.





Golden wedding anniversary

Jack and Earlene Mathias, 30-year residents of the Roaring Fork Valley and retirees of Roaring Fork High School, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a party hosted by their children July 28 in Arvada.

Over 130 family and friends attended the 1950s sock-hop party, in which Elvis made a surprise appearance.
