Larry Matlock
Name: Larry Matlock

Age: 45

Place of birth: St. Louis, Mo.

Occupation: Operations and maintenance worker for the city of Rifle for the past 29 years.

What do you think when you look out and it's snowing - oh crap? Yeah, sometimes.

What time do you have to go out to plow the streets? It depends if you're on call. It can be in the middle of the night, but the Rifle Police Department usually calls to tell us (the snow) is starting to stick. There's usually two of us on, but if it's real bad, it's more. We're usually on call for two weeks and then off for two weeks during the months between November and April.

What do you do in the summer when it's not snowing? Patch streets, work as a street sweeper, trash truck driver - I'm a jack of all trades and master of none (said with a laugh).

When did you move to Garfield County and why? In the seventh grade. But we moved to Colorado to Elk Springs - 55 miles west of Craig - because my dad was stationed with the state highway department. He worked for them for more than 30 years.

First thing you'd buy after winning the lottery? I'd pay all my bills off and move to Missouri.

Best vacation you've ever taken? Las Vegas with my brother and turkey hunting in Nebraska.

What do you do in your spare time? Fish and hike and watch sports on TV.

Greatest accomplishment? Holding down a job this long.

Best piece of advice you've ever received? My dad said to go out and do the best I possibly could.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A professional basketball player.

If you only had three TV channels, what would you watch? ESPN, Channel 9 News (NBC) and HBO.

If you could have any three people over for dinner, who would they be, what would you serve and what would you talk about? My father, Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson from the Denver Nuggets. We'd have steak and lobster and talk about basketball.

Any tattoos? No, ma'am.

What's the greatest invention of all time? Television.
