GLENWOOD SPRINGS — Kirsten McDaniel enjoys surprises. The executive director for Computers 4 Kids keeps getting surprised with awards and recognition for the opportunities the program provides students in the Roaring Fork Valley.
“We try to keep growing and to provide more opportunities for the kids in the valley,” McDaniel said.

“This award was given in recognition of the organization’s exemplary achievements.” the commendation read. “For the first time, the (Penrose) grant was doubled because of C4K’s outstanding work. Their program provides a great service to the community
and is deeply appreciated by the state,” the commendation continued.
McDaniel was please and surprised when she heard the news.
“The whole experience keeps building and is a fantastic thing to be a part of,”
McDaniel said. “It’s nice to get recognized for the work, we feel very special.
