Ski Spree means thrills, tunes

Resort festival back for 41st year

SUNLIGHT MOUNTAIN RESORT — The 41st annual Ski Spree will kick off today at Sunlight Mountain Resort with free live music, extreme competitions, a torchlight parade and fun for all ages. The event runs today and Sunday.

Live music by Kirk Radomski, Soulfeel and the Laughing Bones, and extreme events like radar-judged Need for Speed Race, and a Bumps Competition are scheduled. At dusk, kids will be encouraged to head up Tercero and ski down in the torchlight parade with glow sticks. Afterward the Sunlight Ski Patrol will ski down the mountain in the official Torchlight Parade.

Events on Sunday include the Extreme Rail Jam and Big Air Competition on Dotsero. The weekend ends with an awards ceremony dedicated to all of Sunlight’s local athletes.
