Nepal presentation
The Redstone Community Association 2008 Winter Series program presents: Khumbu Ya-Ya, Trekking in the Everest region. The public is invited to this free presentation at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 2 at the Redstone Inn.

In the fall of 2007, local Redstone resident Sue McEvoy and her friends Colleen Carvelli, Teresa Jennings, Molly Garland, Karla Little Miller and Ginny Myers completed a twenty-day trek in this famous high-altitude region of Nepal.

Their particular journey took them along the well-traveled route through Namche Bazaar up to Gokyo and over the Cho La (17,600 feet), back onto the route to Everest Base camp and the overlook of Kala Patthar (18,315 feet), the famous monastery at Tengboche, and back to Lukla. Nepali culture and the best of their photos and will be the highlight of this presentation.

For more information, contact Sue at 704-1843.

Play just for women
“The Most Massive Woman Wins,” a play by Madeleine George, is widely regarded as one of the finest explorations of self-esteem and body issues so many women face today. Through humor, compassion and heartache, the stories of four women are explored. Woven throughout the play are the many games, cautions, rhymes and experiences that begin in childhood and provide a foundation for adulthood.

This thought-provoking play will be presented by the Colorado Mountain College Theatre program, in the New Space Theatre at Spring Valley. Six 7:30 p.m. performances are scheduled Feb. 28 and 29, and March 1, 6, 7 and 8.

Two 10-minute plays round out the evening. “After,” by Carol K. Mack, features Lauren Bishop and Sam Davis and shows that Happily Ever After really does exist. “Guys,” featuring Rachael Bazley and Andrea Sokolowski, introduces us to two guys in McDonald's who are trying to pick up a woman. It reminds us that all men are princes, but that some become less so when they open their mouths.

For reservations, please call 947-8252.
