Editor’s note: The following information comes from official police and sheriff’s department incident reports. Arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.
Clarification — A March 11 listing printed contents of a police report saying Jon Creech was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order and domestic violence. That was incorrect, as there was no new incidence of domestic violence and no domestic violence charge in that arrest, according to Rifle Police Chief Daryl Meisner. What appeared on the police report as domestic violence was actually only a sentencing rule that would apply if Creech were convicted of the violating a restraining order charge, Meisner said.
