Roan Plateau Rangers set to open season
The Roan Plateau Rangers U18 boys soccer team will host its first home games of the season Saturday and Sunday at Deerfield Park in Rifle (on the Anvil Points field). Both games are at 1 p.m.

City softball league still has openings
Glenwood Springs Parks and Recreation is currently accepting registration for its spring Thursday adult co-ed league. The league still has three openings. All games will be played at Two Rivers Park or Sayre Park.

League play begins Thursday, April 17, and will last eight weeks followed by an end-of-season tournament. Team fees range from $375 to $400. Team fees must accompany registration; no exceptions. There will be a managers meeting on Wednesday, April 9, at 6:30 p.m. at the Glenwood Springs Community Center.

Needed: Soccer Referees
Glenwood Springs needs youth soccer referees. There will be opportunities to become certified at Glenwood Springs High School. On Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. a full certification for Grade 8, 17-hour course will be available for new referees and will be $50 per participant.

There will also be a re-certification clinic for Grade 8 Saturday at GSHS from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. which will be $45 per participant. This will be the last class before the season starts. Don’t miss this opportunity. If you haven’t gotten re-certified and haven’t been able to attend the other classes, here is your last chance.

Summer youth baseball team needs players
A local youth baseball team is looking for serious baseball players ages 12-14 for the upcoming summer baseball league. Games will be played throughout the Western Slope. All interested players should contact Nick @ 471-0792 or e-mail njb3434@aol.com. League play to start in May.

Youth baseball and softball registration
The Carbondale Recreation Department is taking registrations for the summer youth baseball/softball program. Girls and boys, ages 7-15, can pick up registration forms at the Carbondale Recreation Center. Registration deadline is Friday, May. For more information on costs and dates, call 704-4115.

Two Rivers Cycling Team meeting
Two Rivers Cycling Team will be holding an information meeting on Monday starting at 6 p.m. at the Glenwood Springs Community Center. Two Rivers Cycling is a junior development cycling team seeking cyclists from ages 8 to 18. All ability levels are welcome. No prior racing experience necessary. Adult cyclists interested in volunteering are also welcome to attend.
