One man died in a one-vehicle crash on Four Mile Road Sunday afternoon.
At about 4:45 p.m., a silver 2000 Buick sedan with two male occupants drove off County Road 117 about 3.2 miles south of Airport Road in Glenwood Springs, according to Colorado State Patrol press release. The car rolled down an embankment and came to rest on its wheels partially in a creek.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger left the scene and was later taken into custody by Garfield County Sheriff’s deputies on outstanding warrants.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but alcohol and speed are considered factors. The names of the occupants are being withheld pending family notification.
The Colorado State Patrol was assisted by Garfield County Sheriff’s Department, Glenwood Springs Fire Department and Rifle Towing.
