3rd Annual MOG Outdoor Festival this weekend in Grand Junction
The 3rd Annual MOG Outdoor Festival, provides the Western Colorado outdoor community with gear, films and guided adventures. This year the event is expanding to a three-day festival rather than a one-day sale as in past years. (MOG stands for Manufacturers of outdoor gear.)
The festival will be located at the 500 block of Main Street in Grand Junction, and highlights will include the Telluride Mountain Film on Tour, climbing competitions, LOKI NITE, guided excursions, and more activities.
The event runs from Friday, April 11-13 and is free to the public. VIP tickets are available for those who would like to get to the MOG sale an hour early, starting at 8 a.m., for special deals at select downtown retail stores. VIP tickets can be picked up at select downtown retail locations or at KAFM Radio Station at 1310 Ute Ave.

Your outdoor adventures
What did you do this weekend? Was the day spent getting some final turns of the season on the slopes at a Colorado Ski resort? Or perhaps it was a more springtime activity like camping in Moab? Whatever your outdoor fancy is, be it hiking, fishing, camping, hunting, rafting, kayaking, tubing the rivers, mountain biking, cycling, running, speed walking, rock climbing, ice climbing, rodeoing, horseback riding, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, wilderness first-aid, survival, avalanche courses, anything with 4X4 vehicles, or anything having to do with outdoor activities in general, we want to see the proof.
It doesn’t have to be an activity in Garfield County, or Colorado for that matter. If you went on a fishing trip to Arkansas, send in the photos and we will publish it. Two requirements: No indoor pictures, outdoors is a must. And there has to be people doing something in the photo. Save your sunset shots for “Photos by you” submissions.
Send submitted photos of you enjoying the outdoors to Post Independent Outdoors writer John Gardner at
jgardner@postindependent.com. Or drop them off or mail them to the Post Independent c/o John Gardner at 2014 Grand Ave., Glenwood Springs, Colorado 81601. We will publish it in the Thursday edition of the Post Independent in the Outdoors section.
Information including where you were, what you were doing and who you were with (who’s in the photo) and a contact phone number to verify information is greatly appreciated. If no information is included, don’t be surprised if the photo doesn’t make the cut.
Be safe, but continue to enjoy the great outdoors.
