Sweet baby girl

Shawn and Christina Sullivan of Silt are pleased to announce the birth of their daughter, Sophia Eve Sullivan, at 10:39 p.m. Feb. 14, 2008. She weighed 8 pounds, 3.5 ounces, and was 21.5 inches long at birth.

New baby boy

Matthew and Megan Marran of Glenwood Springs are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Thomas John Marran, at the stroke of midnight March 20, 2008, at Valley View Hospital. He weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces, and was 20 inches long.

His big sister, Hannah, 2, can’t wait to play with him.

Proud grandparents are William and Marion Young of East Fallowfield, Penn., and John and Terry Marran of West Chester, Penn.

Yummy cookies enjoyed by vets

Over 1,600 cookies were delivered to the 2008 National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic in Snowmass on March 29 by JoEllen Maynard and Chris Potvin of the American Legion Post 100 of Carbondale. JoEllen coordinated the project with the other ladies of the post to bake the cookies and package them for over 400 veterans attending the clinic. With the help of Sandy Trombetta, director of the sports clinic, and Teresa Parks, director of operations, the cookies were distributed at the veterans’ registration.
