Print Comment
CARBONDALE, Colorado — The evacuation order for the County Road 100 fire near Carbondale remains in effect with two exceptions, according to the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office.

Residents living in the vicinity of Willow or Rose Lanes off County Road 100, as well as, residents who live east of County Road 100 and on the south side of Highway 82, are being allowed to return home this evening.

This includes homes on the Frontage Road, Alpine, and the Waldorf School. Residents will need to present identification establishing residency in these areas in order to return.

The remainder of the evacuees within the three-mile radius of Catherine Store will be restricted from returning to their homes until at least noon tomorrow depending on weather.

The American Red Cross is operating a shelter for evacuees at Roaring Fork High School with as many as 300 beds available.
