Marcia Irene Carlyle Harrington, 58, of Glenwood Springs, passed away April 23, 2008.

She was born Dec. 2, 1949, in Salida, to Ethel M. (Blocker) and Frank W. Harrington Sr.

Marcia lived in the valley for 56 years. She dedicated her life to taking care of others. Her 37+ years at Valley View Hospital took her from the emergency room to ICU to Hospice care. Her sense of humor, her genuine love and caring of others made her a special person. She was a mentor to many, a loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, friend and colleague. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by son Christopher E. Carlyle; daughter Sofia L. (Kelly) Fisher-Carlyle; brother Frank W. (Cathy) Harrington Jr.; sister Margaret A. (Bill) Neil; grandchildren Ariana, Hayden, Willow and Brenna Fisher.

Marcia was preceded in death by her mother.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, at the Sonlight Foursquare Church, 0355 Mitchell Creek Road (County Road 132) in West Glenwood Springs. Rhonda and Bernie Masimer will officiate. Interment will follow at Rosebud Cemetery.

The family asks that donations be made to the Roaring Fork Hospice in lieu of flowers.
