Glenwood Springs
May 4: Shoplifting - Police responded to a local business for a report of a shoplifter. They cited Tricia R Freehling, 37, of Castle Rock, with petty theft. Property worth $42 was returned to the business.
May 4: Domestic disturbance - Police answered a report of a domestic disturbance. They believe Jose Luis Ocana-Gutierrez, 38, of Glenwood Springs, hit his girlfriend, threatened to kill her and damaged a television. He was arrested on suspicion of criminal mischief, menacing and third-degree assault.
May 4: DUI - Police responded to an accident in a parking lot. They arrested Jose German Maldonado, 42, of Rifle, on suspicion of DUI and unsafe backing.
May 3: Marijuana - Police stopped a vehicle suspected of disobeying a red light. They arrested Jordan Michael Lewis, 18, of New Castle, on suspicion of possession of between one to eight ounces of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and failing to obey a traffic signal.
May 3: Bar fight - Police responded to a report of a fight at a local bar. They arrested Jesse William Wanner, 29, of Rifle, on suspicion of disorderly conduct, third-degree assault, criminal mischief and violation of a protection order.
May 3: Skating - Police stopped a man for skateboarding through a downtown intersection. They arrested Eric Christopher Eanes, 21, of Glenwood Springs, on an outstanding warrant from Trinidad for possession of marijuana.
May 1: Shoplifting - Police answered a call of shoplifters in custody at a local department store. They arrested Cassandra Ann Guenther, 20, of Glenwood Springs, on suspicion of shoplifting, trespassing and on outstanding warrant.
May 1: DUI - Police stopped a vehicle for a defective brake light. They arrested Sarah Therese Shepard, 23, of Glenwood Springs, on suspicion of driving while ability impaired and defective brake lights.
April 28: Harassment - Police responded to a domestic violence call. Police say the victim's mother threw coffee on her, and the father subsequently strangled the mother. Lorraine Eleanor Wiltse, 48, of Glenwood Springs, was arrested on suspicion of harassment, and Andrew Rolf Wiltse, 49, was cited with harassment.
Rifle
May 2: Hit-and-run - Police noticed a license plate embedded in a fence badly damaged from a hit-and-run accident. They arrested the driver, Adolfo Ramirez, 21, on suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident, careless driving and driving without a license.
April 29: DUI - Police responded to the scene of an accident. They believe one vehicle backed into another vehicle then attempted to flee the scene. Paula Hornstein, 48, of Rifle, was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
April 21: Liquor theft - Police investigated a report of a theft from Jon's Liquors. They arrested Justin Davis, 22, of Rifle, and Randall Rockwell, 19, of Rifle, on suspicion of theft and other charges.
April 19: Drinking in a car - Police contacted a car on the 1500 block of Whiteriver Avenue. The owner, Anthony Rodriguez, was wanted in another case. But he was arrested on new charges of two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, two counts of child abuse and a count of underage possession or consumption of alcohol. Joshua Brooks, 19, was also arrested for two counts of aiding or abetting a minor and a count of underage possession or consumption of alcohol. Two 15-year-old girls were also arrested for curfew violations and underage possession or consumption of alcohol.
April 18: Methamphetamines - Police stopped a vehicle driven by someone known to have a suspended license. They allegedly searched the vehicle and found methamphetamines and marijuana. Police arrested Budd James Nesius.
