Amber Fern (Wamhoff) Brady, 80, died May 4, 2008, in El Paso, Texas, surrounded by the love of her family.

Amber was born Aug. 30, 1927, in Trempealeau, Wis., to LeNora (Vaughn) and Carl Wamhoff.

While working for the war effort, she met her husband-to-be at Donovan Foundry in Winona, Minn. She married Daniel R. (Don) Brady March 15, 1947. Their union produced four children.

Amber was a wonderful mother and wife and a steadfast friend. She was a proud American and loved her flag. Amber was a member of the Lutheran Church, served on the Council on Aging, the Elkettes, Rail Rangers for the BLM, volunteered at the Rifle and Parachute Chamber Tourist Information Centers and for many years as an election judge. Amber was well-known in the family for her fabulous lemon meringue pies and various other baking accomplishments.

Amber was preceded in death by her husband; son Danny; a brother and three sisters.

She is survived by daughters Cheryl (Norman) Chandler of Silt and Pam (Dan) Wolf of Winona; sons John (Marjory) Brady of El Paso and Daniel Brady of Illinois; grandchildren Andrea Wolf of Orange, Calif., Danny (Angela) Wolf of Inver Grove Heights, Minn., Heather (Cory) Everson of Winona, Lauren Brady of Las Cruces, N.M., Rebecca Brady, and John Michael Brady of El Paso; great-grandchildren Brady Wolf and Noah Everson; sisters Lorna Hansen and Emeline Eller, both of Oakdale, Calif.; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Shriners Hospital for Children, P.O. Box 1510, Ranson, W. Va., 25438-4510.

A memorial will be held at a later date in Silt.
