Keeper leads Glenwood Springs at Western Slope Swimming and Diving Championships

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado - Behind six event wins in Saturday's finals, Grand Junction District 51 brought home the Western Slope Boys Swimming and Diving Championships title from Glenwood Springs.

The Grand Junction squad racked up 417 points to top Montrose (287), Durango (268) and Moffat County (198) at the two-day meet, hosted by the Glenwood Springs swim team and held at the Community Center.

The five-swimmer Demon team took fifth in the six-team field, finishing ahead of Delta.

Recording the top individual swim for Glenwood was George Keeper, who took fifth place in the 50-yard freestyle (24.6). He also swam the 100 free, finishing 10th (56.64).

Alex Moore was 11th in the 200 free (2:15.27) and 10th in the 500 free (6:23.7), while Geoffrey Moore swam to 11th in the 200 individual medley (2:41.82) and to seventh in the 100 breaststroke (1:17.4) and Luke Johnson took ninth in the 100 breast (1:20.88).

Demon relay teams were eighth in the 200 free relay (1:52.85) and seventh in the 200 medley relay (2:08.93).
