EAGLE, Colo. — Three rafts flipped Monday on the Eagle River near the Eagle County Fairgrounds, spilling 19 people into the water.
No one was seriously injured, and none of the rafters was taken to the hospital.
Most of the people were able to swim to the shore on either side of the Eagle River. One woman floated to Gypsum and had to be rescued from an island in the middle of the river.
"It sounds like they're cold and exhausted, but nobody needs medical assistance," said Lt. Mike McWilliam of the Eagle County Sheriff's Office.
Nova Guides, the company that was running the raft trip, took the rafters back to its headquarters near Minturn.
