GRAND JUNCTION " Republican House District 55 candidate Laura Bradford of Collbran took in more money in local 2008 state legislative candidate contributions in May. But her opponent, Grand Junction Democratic Rep. Bernie Buescher, still has the most money in his campaign coffers.
Bradford received $8,586 in campaign contributions between April 26 and May 26, according to campaign finance reports filed June 2 with the Colorado Secretary of State. With $2,410.58 spent by the Committee to Elect Laura Bradford in the same period, that brings her tally up to $17,527.58.
The Committee to Elect Bernie Buescher collected $800 and spent $35.17 from April 26 to May 26. His campaign has $58,314.90.
Rep. Steve King, R-Grand Junction, who has no challenger for his District 54 seat in November, collected $540 and spent $1,139.80 between April 26 and May 26, bringing the Friends of Steve King campaign budget to $5,531.69.
Mesa County Commissioner candidates' first campaign finance reports are due July 22.
