Glenwood Springs, CO Colorado t

SOUTH CANYON, Colorado - At approximately 3:22 p.m. Monday, the Garfield County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a man spotted floating in the Colorado River near mile marker 111 on Interstate 70 at South Canyon.

According to Garfield County Sheriff's Office community relations deputy Tanny McGinnis, Garfield County Sheriff's Office Search & Rescue and Burning Mountains Fire Protection District were able to get a visual of the man. He was then pulled from the river and transported to Valley View Hospital.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing emergency vehicles and people a little west of the 105 exit at New Castle pulling a man from the river.

McGinnis could not comment on the man's medical condition. Federal regulations prevent hospitals from commenting on the condition of patients without their consent.

The South Canyon section of the Colorado River was flowing at 13,000 cubic feet per second Monday afternoon.
