GSPD seeks suspect in Glenwood rape

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado — Authorities are asking for information to help locate a man suspected of rape Saturday morning.

Anyone who knows anything about the incident should call the Glenwood Springs Police Department at 384-6500. Information can also be left with investigations@glenwoodpolice.com or Garfield County Crime Stoppers at 945-0101.

According to police, the rape occurred on Saturday morning at about 2:30 a.m. when a woman was walking on the 1000 block of Grand Avenue in Glenwood Springs. The man allegedly grabbed the woman, forced her to an area between a church and a business and raped her before leaving the scene on foot.

Police obtained a description of the suspect as a white male of about five feet and five inches tall. The suspect weighs about 145 pounds and was believed to be 25 to 30 years old with dark eyes and dark hair. He was clean shaven at the time and wore a dark baseball cap, a black T-shirt and light blue jeans.
