The Teen Book Club of the Glenwood Springs Branch Library will meet to discuss Caroline Cooneys book, Code Orange, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 3. All teens are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served. Copies of Code Orange are available at the library circulation desk.

Habitats recognition renamed
Ray and Shirley Limoges have helped countless families in their 20 plus years of affiliation with Habitat for Humanity. The Habitat Board of Directors recently renamed the organizations annual volunteer accolade the Ray and Shirley Limoges Volunteer of the Year Award. The nonprofit recognizes one volunteer each year for outstanding service and selfless dedication to others. Previous recipients include Larry Eggers, Jon Lindenberg and Jane Moore.
String theory
A free public dialogue on String Theory and the Structure of the Universe with Professor Shamit Kachru, Stanford University, will be held at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, July 3, at the Aspen Center for Physics, Sixth and Gillespie in Aspen.Big Bang cosmology has been a very successful framework for understanding the universe over the past 40 years. Theories of cosmic inflation, how they may emerge from string theory and how future experiments may find striking signatures of the stringy origin of the universe will be discussed.

Free Friday flicks
Friday Night Flicks will return Fridays in August at Two Rivers Amphitheater in Glenwood Springs. This years series will kickoff with the showing of ET Aug. 1; followed by Ferris Buellers Day Off Aug. 8; and Back to the Future Aug. 15. The final film in the series will be The Wizard of Oz Aug. 22. The final show includes a costume contest, movie trivia, live music and childrens amusements.
Gates open at 7:30 p.m. and showtime is at dusk.
Check out the clean energy workshop
A video recording of the recent workshop, Advancing the Clean Energy Economy, will be aired in Carbondale, Glenwood Springs and Rifle on community access cable television.The workshop, held June 13 in Glenwood Springs, featured Craig Perkins of The Energy Coalition. Clean Energy Economy for the Region hosted the event.
The workshop video will air at noon, 7 and 10 p.m.; and midnight Wednesday, July 2, and Friday, July 11, in Glenwood Springs and Carbondale on Cable Channel 12.
It will air at 6 and 10 a.m.; 1, 5 and 8 p.m. Sunday, July 6, in Rifle on Cable Channel 10.
