Featured hiking trail: No Name Trail, (Also known as the Jess Weaver Trail)

Location: Part of the Rifle Ranger District the trail is located Northeast of Glenwood Springs in the White River National Forest.

Difficulty: Difficult

Trail use: Moderate

Length: 12 miles

Elevation gain: The trail starts at 6,000 feet and ends at approximately 9,700

Getting there: From Glenwood Springs take eastbound Interstate 70 about 2 miles to the No Name Exit. Turn left and continue approximately half a mile to the parking area and trail head. This trail is also known as the Jess Weaver Trail.

Highlights: The first 1.5 miles of the trail have a fairly gentle grade as the trail several small stream crossings. About 3 miles in the trail crosses No Name Creek for the first time. This trail is very rocky and steep, with grades of 20 to 30 percent. Water is readily available along the entire trail, and heavy trees provide good shade. Fishing is prevalent along the creek as well, so if you don’t want to hike the entire trial, bring the fishing pole along for twice the fun.
