CDOT opens canyon path

Print Comment
GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado — The Colorado Department of Transportation said the recreational path through Glenwood Canyon was completely re-opened Thursday afternoon.

One section between the Shoshone and Hanging Lake rest areas had still been closed due to high water. CDOT said a foot of water was on that section of the path in mid-June, when most of the path on either side of the section was opened.

CDOT also planned repairs to about 100 feet of fencing along the path that was damaged or washed away by the water. The path was first closed this season around May 19.

If water levels increase and the path must be closed again, information would be posted on www.cotrip.org.
