Circus comes to Carbondale

The American Crown Circus from Las Vegas will be performing two shows at 6 and 8 p.m. Aug. 2-4 at the Carbondale North Face Park.

Rifle High School new student registration will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12-15.

Auction for Holistic Harmony

A silent auction benefiting the Holistic Harmony music program will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, adjacent to the Valley View Hospital cafeteria.

Alaskan king crab bake at Heyday

The Miner’s Claim Restaurant is offering an Alaskan King Crab Bake from 5 p.m. to closing during Silt Heyday on Aug. 2. The menu includes choice blue crab corn chowder or mixed field green salad, honey wheat rolls, more than one pound of Alaskan king crab legs with lemon herb butter, a jumbo baked potato, sweet corn, and a variety of desserts.

Holistic Harmony anniversary

Valley View Hospital’s Holistic Harmony music program will be celebrating its third anniversary from 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 31, in the upper lobby. It will be an elegant evening of music, performed by 13 of the hospital musicians. Hors d’oeuvres and wine will be served. Tickets can be purchased at the hospital gift shop.

Teen book club

Teens looking for others who like to read interesting, thought-provoking books, pick up a copy of Margaret Atwood’s “The Handmaid’s Tale,” at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library circulation desk. Then join the teen book club in a discussion of the book at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at the library, 413 Ninth St. in Glenwood Springs. Refreshments will be provided.

Another scenic float

The Roaring Fork Conservancy will conduct an additional float trip July 30. Check in at 3:15 p.m. at Whitewater Rafting. This educational and scenic float on the lower Roaring Fork River is guided by a Roaring Fork Conservancy naturalist. Plan on wildlife, learning and fun. This mellow trip is designed for individuals and families ages 8 and up. Spaces limited. Reservations required by calling Whitewater Rafting at 945-8477.

Caverns closing early July 30

Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park will close at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, for an employee celebration. The last tram ride up will be at 6 p.m.

The park will reopen for business as usual at 9 a.m. Thursday, July 31.
