GSHS cross-country parent meeting is July 22
The Glenwood Springs High School cross-country program is holding its preseason parent meeting July 22 at 7 p.m. at the Glenwood Park soccer field. Anyone interested in running for the team is encouraged to attend.

Three Rivers Football skills camp
Three Rivers Youth Football will be hosting a mandatory skills camp on July 22 for third- and fourth-graders playing in Glenwood Springs this fall. Glenwood Springs Middle School is hosting the camp, which gets off to a 5:30 p.m. start.
The camp is also an opportunity for any players not yet registered to sign up and participate in the camp. Wear cleats and athletic clothes and bring water.

State Games of the West
Glenwood Springs, New Castle, Silt, Rifle, Parachute and Carbondale athletes of all ages and skill levels are invited to compete against participants from across Colorado and a dozen other Western states this summer in Colorado Springs at the inaugural State Games of the West, scheduled for July 24-27.
The invitation is open to both teams and individuals in the area, with medals awarded in the 31 sports offered. Athletes from all of Colorado can register and get all information at

Storm King Ladies Open is July 26
Glenwood Springs Golf Club is accepting registrations of two-woman teams for the July 26 Storm King Ladies Open. The cost is $90 per team.

Realtor Invitational Scholarship golf tourney is Aug. 1
The 17th annual Realtor Invitational Scholarship fundraiser golf tournament is slated for Aug. 1 at Battlement Mesa Golf Course.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
Every year, the Glenwood Springs Association of Realtors Scholarship Committee awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors in Garfield County, and all proceeds from the tournament go toward that fund.
The cost is $400 for a four-person team and includes continental breakfast, an awards lunch, range balls, beverages on the course and 18 holes of golf plus a cart.

HS football officials wanted
The Three Rivers Football Officials Association is looking for men and women to train as high school football officials. Training sessions and clinics will be offered to gain certification with the Colorado Football Officials Association.
