Auction for Holistic Harmony

A silent auction benefiting the Holistic Harmony music program will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, adjacent to the Valley View Hospital cafeteria.

Jimmy Ibbotson

The Basalt Chamber of Commerce is proud to present Jimmy Ibbotson as part of the Basalt Summer Music Series from 5:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, in Triangle Park at Willits Town Center.

MS education

The Heuga Center for Multiple Sclerosis (MS), along with the National MS Society, will host an educational program for people and families living with MS from 5:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, at the Ramada Inn in Glenwood Springs. The program will feature Dr. Allen Bowling, neurologist and author of numerous books on MS; and Patricia Kennedy, a nurse practitioner with more than 25 years of experience with MS.

Miss Eva at storytime July 24

Eva Fitzwater (better known as Miss Eva) will present Family Story Time at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at the library, 413 Ninth St. in Glenwood Springs.

Travel opp

An organizational meeting for a travel opportunity to Germany will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at St. Stephen’s School. The planned trip is for September 2010 to visit southern Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

Free outdoor concert

Kraig Kenning, national slide guitar champion, will perform a free concert from 6-9 p.m. Friday, July 25, at the Crystal River Café in Redstone.

Smoking River Pow Wow

The first Smoking River Pow Wow in Meeker will be held July 25 and 26 at Ute Park.
The Smoking River Pow Wow will be a family-friendly, alcohol-free event featuring ceremonial dances and drumming along with food and craft vendors.

The pow wow is free of charge to the public. Please bring chairs to sit on and leave any pets at home. Visit the website for more information (www.smokingriverpowwow.com).

Mountain Fair

The 37th annual Carbondale Mountain Fair opens at 4 p.m. Friday, July 25.

This year, the fair will be blessed by the Gaden Shartsen Tibetan monks, who are now in the valley for the Dalai Lama’s appearance Saturday morning in Aspen. Their brief ceremony will be immediately followed by the opening drum circle. The monks will bless the fair from 4-4:20 p.m. followed by the community drum circle.
