11-year-old hits HIO at RRF
Evan Patzoldt, just 11 years old, drained a hole-in-one at Ranch at Roaring Fork on Thursday.The youngster used a driver to cover the 132 yards to the cup on the first hole at the par-3 course.

In a Wednesday sports brief on the Aug. 2 Cheatin Woodchuck Chase 5-mile run and 2.3-mile fun run/walk at Rifle Mountain Park, it was incorrectly reported that a bus leaves Rifle City Hall to shuttle runners to the starting line at 8:10 a.m. The bus actually leaves from the Rifle Fish Hatchery at 8:10 a.m.This year Cheatin Woodchuck Chase routes runners through Rifle Mountain Park and begins at 9 a.m. Race-day registration begins at 7:15 a.m. Registration costs $15 before July 25 and $20 after.

GSHS boys golf meeting
The Glenwood Springs High School boys golf team is holding an informational meeting for athletes interested in joining the team at 7 p.m. Monday night at Glenwood Springs Golf Club. Competition and practice schedules, as well CHSAA paperwork, will be passed out at the meeting.If interested in joining the team but unable to make the meeting, contact coach Bryan Whiting at 384-5598.
