Glenwood's second annual Friday Night Flicks rolls in August



GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado — Bring the family and blankets and relax at Two Rivers Park for four community movies throughout August.

Curtains open on the second annual Friday Night Flicks film series starting Friday, Aug. 1, with the showing of “ET: The Extra Terrestrial.” Films will be viewed at the Two Rivers Park Amphitheater and will continue each Friday through the month of August.

Friday Night Flicks is sponsored by the city of Glenwood Springs, the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association, the Roaring Fork Young Professionals, Bighorn Toyota and American National Bank.

The final Friday of the series will feature “The Wizard of Oz,” starring Judy Garland. Adults and children of all ages are invited to participate in the pre-film celebration including a costume contest, movie trivia, live music and children’s amusements. The festivities on Aug. 22 begin at 4 p.m.

For all other movies, gates open at 7:30 p.m. the day of the show with the movie starting at dusk. The events are free and open to the public.
