GRAND JUNCTION, Colorado Local golfers raided Grand Junctions Bookcliff Country Club for Mondays 20-team, Grand Junction High School-hosted Tiger Invitational.
And it was a heavily contested tourney, with the top 10 all bringing in scorecards under 80.
Fronting the pack was Battle Mountains Cameron Brown, whose 1-under-par 70 placed him a stroke ahead of Montroses Brandon Walters (71).
Montrose easily won the team-score battle with a 223, nine strokes ahead of second-place Montezuma-Cortez and 12 in front of third-place Battle Mountain.
Taking top honors among Garfield County squads was Rifles Clayton Kostanzo, whose 77 landed him in a tie for seventh place. Also shooting well from local teams was Glenwood Springs Michael Braklow (84), Roaring Forks Micah Evonitz (85), Rifles Alex Haynes (86), Coal Ridges Casey Lawrence (93) Roaring Forks Arick Zeigel (94), Glenwoods Taylor Mays (95), Rifles Chris Kuester (99) and Coal Ridges Craig Spaulding (99).
