Rifle takes 14th at Steamboat Invitational

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — Roaring Fork’s Micah Evonitz and Rifle’s Alex Haynes produced Garfield County’s top showings at Wednesday’s Steamboat Springs Invitational boys golf tournament, posting matching 85s at Haymaker Golf Course.
With a score of 279, Rifle took 14th in the team standings at Steamboat, two spots ahead of Roaring Fork (297), which finished 16th.

Battle Mountain’s Cameron Brown won the tourney, carding an even-par score of 72. That delivered Brown a two-stroke win over Fruita Monument’s Jeff Cunningham.
