GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado — Barack Obama’s presidential campaign will open an office in Glenwood Springs today to reach out to Garfield County voters.
The new office will be located right next to the Garfield County Democratic Party’s new headquarters, which is also opening today.
Both offices are located at 716 Sixth St. in downtown Glenwood Springs, right near the Hotel Colorado.
There will be a grand opening celebration for the two offices today, according to the Obama campaign and local Democratic officials. Those celebrations begin at 6 p.m.
At the grand openings, residents will be able to meet local Democratic candidates running for local offices. There will also be performances by Dustin Micheli, Don and April Paine, and Don Kauffman. The Last Minute String Band is also expected to perform.
“We are thrilled to open our largest campaign headquarters in county history,” said Ed Sands, chairman of the Garfield County Democratic Party.
The Obama campaign office in Glenwood Springs will bring the campaign’s total number of Colorado offices to 16.
