Glenwood Springs police
Clarification: The last Copshop listed a call about a bar fight Sept. 18. It said two women allegedly involved in the fight were cited with crimes and Greggory Alan Davis, 25, of Glenwood Springs, was arrested on a Mesa County warrant for contempt of court from a case with a menacing charge. It should be noted that Davis was not directly involved in the fight.
Sept. 29: Pedestrian in roadway — Police saw a man lying on the ground next to a bicycle near Sixth Street and Pine Street. They say he ran off and returned and then ran from police again. Police arrested Patrick Lyman Ohara III, 23, of Arizona, on suspicion of drunk pedestrian in the roadway and obstructing a peace officer.
Sept. 28: Shoplifting — Police responded to a call about a shoplifter in custody at City Market. They believe Carmen Serpas Mejilla, 43, stole about $236 in merchandise and arrested her on suspicion of theft.
Sept. 26: DUI — Police stopped a vehicle suspected of traffic offenses. They arrested Enrique Peña, 35, of Glenwood Springs, on suspicion of DUI, an open container violation, failure to provide proof of insurance and weaving.
Sept. 26: DUI — Police pulled over a vehicle suspected of straddling two lanes. They arrested William Bradley Carper, 28, of New Castle, on suspicion of DUI and weaving.
Sept. 25: Identity theft — Police say Angel Maldonado Espinoza, 19, of Silt, turned himself in on a warrant for failure to appear in an identity theft case.
Rifle police
Sept. 28: Theft — A woman told police someone came into her house and stole items on the 700 block of East Avenue.
Sept. 28: Husband struck — Police responded to a report of domestic violence. They believe Lynn Wright, 39, of Rifle, struck her husband. Wright was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence charges.
Sept. 28: Fight — Police observed a fight on the 2000 block of Whiteriver Avenue. They arrested Justin McSwain, 25, of Meeker, on suspicion of assault.
Sept. 27: Hit-and-run — Police responded to a report of a hit-and-run accident on the 1400 block of Dogwood Drive. Police arrested the suspected driver, Tonette Green.
Sept. 25: Theft — Someone reported several hundred dollars worth of electronic gaming equipment was stolen from Wal-Mart.
Sept. 24: Burglary — Police responded to a burglary on the 300 block of Whiteriver Avenue.
Sept. 23: Burglary — Police investigated a burglary in progress on the 1800 block of West Second Street. Police say they were getting a description of the suspect when he drove by the residence. They arrested Steven Emmanuel Favela, 20, of Rifle.
Sept. 23: Warrant — Police contacted a juvenile driving carelessly on the Rifle High School campus. They arrested him and released him to his parents on an active arrest warrant.
Sept. 20: DUID — Police stopped a vehicle suspected of careless driving. They arrested Christopher Long on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to provide proof of insurance. Blake Powell, a passenger, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a schedule one controlled substance and underage possession or consumption of alcohol.
Sept. 20: Assault — Police responded to a disturbance call at a residence. They arrested Peter Eriksen, 47, of Rifle, on suspicion he assaulted his brother and broke a phone when the man tried to call police.
Sept. 12: Underage drinking — While patrolling a sporting event at Rifle High School, police contacted a 17-year-old male who looked intoxicated. He was cited and released to his mother.
Sept. 4: Burglary — Police investigated a report of a burglary in progress. They arrested Christian Mendrop, 31, of Silt, on suspicion of theft and a restraining order prohibiting him from drinking alcohol.
