Thanksgiving Events

Basalt Thanksgiving dinner baskets

Basalt Methodist Church in Holland Hills heads up the Thanksgiving Day dinner baskets for the Basalt schools attendance area. Please donate in boxes at Basalt City Market grocery store Saturday, Nov. 22, and Sunday, Nov. 23, or to the Basalt Boy Scouts, or at the Basalt Methodist Church.

Volunteers are needed to collect these donations on the days at the market, and for filling and delivering (strictly confidential) these boxes of food, volunteers are asked to gather Wednesday, Nov. 26, at the Basalt church.

Please phone Cindy Wilson, 927-3764, to set up your positions on this heart-fulfilling assembly line.

Aspen Chapel Thanksgiving service and potluck dinner

The Aspen Chapel Christian and Jewish communities will host a Thanksgiving service and potluck dinner at 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, at the Aspen Chapel. A short service by the children of both Christian and Jewish communities will start at 5 p.m. followed by the potluck dinner in the Aspen Chapel Gallery. People attending are asked to bring a side dish to share.

The Aspen Chapel youth are also sponsoring “Soles for Souls,” a program which takes donations of slightly used shoes, which will go to people in need of shoes. Persons wishing to contribute can bring the shoes to the service or take them to the chapel any time between 10 a.m. and 4 pm.

To get to the Aspen Chapel, use the Castle Creek Road exit from the roundabout to Meadowood Drive.
