BATTLEMENT MESA, Colorado Two people wearing ski masks robbed a Kum-N-Go convenience store in Battlement Mesa Sunday night.
The robbery occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. near at the corner of Tamarisk Trail and Stone Quarry Road.
A clerk was held at gunpoint, and the suspects fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash, the Garfield County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.
The suspects appeared about five-foot-nine to five-foot-ten and sounded Hispanic, according to an initial report over the radio. The clerk who called authorities said she couldn't get a better description because she was too worried about the gun, which was a small handgun, someone said over the radio.
A Kum-N-Go employee said no one locally could comment on the robbery.
Garfield County Crime Stoppers is searching for information that will lead to arrest and prosecution of suspects. Anyone can remain anonymous and earn up to $1,000.00 by calling 945-0101.
