Although the annual New Castle Easter Egg Hunt has been canceled this year, children may still look for treasures in Rifle at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 11, at the annual Rifle Lion's Club Easter Egg Hunt in Deerfield Park.
Egg hunters can participate in the Rifle Easter Egg Hunt, put on by the Lion's Club, which is open to all valley residents, and in three different age groups: up to 3 years old; 4 -6 years old and those 7-9 years old.
Approximately 4,000 pieces of candy will be hidden; those finding a candy with a number on it must find the corresponding business in downtown Rifle where another prize awaits.
The Carbondale Recreation Department invites children, ages 1-8, to the annual Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 11 at Sopris Park.
A raffle for Easter baskets will be held after the hunt. Children can register for the raffle before the hunt begins. Be on time and bring your own basket, the hunt only lasts a few minutes.

The town of New Castle had been giving massive egg hunts for decades by Rhonda and Marvin Coller of Canyon Plumbing. Perhaps someone can pick up the egg and provide this service next year.
Hop on up to Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park for a mountain-top Easter celebration on Sunday, April 12. The day starts early, with a Sunrise Service by Pastor Mark Bantliff of the New Creations Church at 7 a.m., followed by a pancake breakfast. The cost for the tram ride and breakfast is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $8 for children ages 3-12. Sorry, no coupons or discounts on Easter Sunday. The tram opens at 6 a.m. and bus transportation will be available if needed. Tickets for the pancake breakfast will be available until 7:30 a.m.
The Adventure Park's rides and attractions will open at 8 a.m., including Cave Tours, Canyon Flyer alpine coaster, new full-size bungee trampolines, Ft. WhereAmI giant maze, Swing Shot giant swing and Doc's Rock climbing wall. The Lookout Grille will be open for lunch and snacks.
