GarCo Crime Stoppers looking for Rifle man



GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado — Garfield County Crime Stoppers and the Garfield County Sheriff’s Department are looking for information on the whereabouts of Ruben Nevarez-Lopez, 75.

Lopez is wanted on an active warrant by the Otero County Sheriff’s Department in Alamogordo, NM on six counts of sexual assault on a child. His last known address was Cottonwood Mobile Home Park in Rifle. People can remain anonymous by calling Garfield County Crime Stoppers at 970-945-0101, and could earn up to $1,000.

Another indecent exposure reported near Carbondale

CARBONDALE, Colorado — Garfield County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an indecent exposure involving a suspicious male near Carbondale on Wednesday, May 27.

This is the third indecent exposure call the Sheriff’s Office has responded in the past few months. The latest two incidents have happened within weeks of each other.

The Sheriff’s Office was unable to confirm if any of the incidents are connected. All remain under investigation. The Sheriff’s Office warns people to be cautious at all times and call 911 immediately if they see anything suspicious.

Police on the lookout for missing Rifle man

RIFLE, Colorado — The Rifle Police Department is asking citizens to be on the lookout for a Rifle man who has been missing since last week.

Rodney Whitney, 44, was last seen around 7:30 p.m. May 18 in Rifle. Whitney’s red Toyota pickup truck was found abandoned on a county road near Mamm Creek and Interstate 70, according to a press release from Rifle Police.

He is described as a white male, 5-foot-10, 205 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes.

“The Rifle Police Department has limited information concerning Rodney Whitney’s friends and contacts,” according to the press release.
