Roland Wagner
GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado — The Colorado Department of Transportation announced the promotion of Roland Wagner to the position of resident engineer for its Glenwood Springs office.
Wagner has worked for CDOT's Glenwood Springs Engineering Residency since 2001, when he was recruited as a project engineer to work on the $100 million Highway 82 widening project through Snowmass Canyon. Prior to working for CDOT, he worked as an engineering consultant for Washington Infrastructure in Glenwood Springs and Ground Engineering in Denver.
Wagner has managed several award-winning projects including the I-70 Hanging Lake Tunnel emergency repairs, Glenwood Canyon concrete paving (phase 1) and the I-70 Exit 114 improvements. Most recently, he managed the Highway 133 Carbondale bridge widening project.
In his new position as resident engineer, Wagner will oversee highway engineering projects for the area that includes Pitkin and Garfield counties, and a portion of Eagle County. He replaces former Resident Engineer Pete Mertes, who has become CDOT's Region 3 Traffic and Safety engineer, with offices in both Glenwood Springs and Grand Junction.
