Youthentity pig roast
Youthentity (formerly Computers for Kids) hosts a Cuban-cuisine-themed fundraiser, including a pig roast, beer and whiskey tasting, music and silent auction, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at the Aspen Glen Club, 545 Bald Eagle Way, Carbondale.Carl Gould, founder and direct of CMT, and Larry Bangs of Bangs Business Coaching, will speak about Youthentity's Partnering for Success Program.

New venue for Basalt River Day
The Basalt Chamber River Day is changing its venue and moving closer to the river. This year's River Day will be held on Saturday, Aug. 15, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Old Pond Park.“The change of venue will offer Basalt the ability to really incorporate the river and bring our most prominent feature into focus for the day,” Chamber Executive Director Heather Smith said. “We will also be encouraging Chamber members to set up booths for free at this event to showcase our local businesses.”

Rifle Fire Station groundbreaking
On Wednesday, June 17, at 5:30 p.m., the Rifle Fire Protection District will be holding a groundbreaking ceremony for Fire Station No. 3 at 419 Last Chance Drive (County Road 332). The Rifle Fire Protection District would like to cordially invite you to attend this ceremony.The new station will allow the fire district to better serve Rifle residents and businesses. Once this station is occupied, Rifle will have comprehensive fire protection and advanced life support coverage, which will help to reduce response times to incidences in South Rifle and rural areas, and ultimately help enhance health and safety while protecting the life, home and property of the people served by the district.
Rifle Fire Protection District is a combination department, staffing full-time, part-time and volunteer members who are responsible for fire, EMS and rescue services in a 411-square-mile area.
Design of the facility was led by Rich Carter of Johnson-Carter Architects. The builder is Kuersten Construction LLC.

New offerings from Alpine Legal Services
Alpine Legal Services is holding two new events this month. The first is a “Do it Yourself Divorce Class,” on June 18 in the Garfield County Courthouse. At 1 p.m., information will be given about managing divorce cases, and divorce proceeding documentation will be provided. Attendants are asked to preregister and bring a small donation, though no services will be denied based on lack of ability to pay.The next week, they will present the Thursday Night Bar, where people can ask questions about legal issues. The event is at 5 p.m. on June 18. Attendants will be received in order of appearance for 15-minute private consultations with volunteer attorneys, regarding matters like divorce, custody, renters' rights and more. Case documentation including leases, contracts and court papers should be brought. This event occurs the third Thursday of every month. Once more, a small donation is requested but not required.
