Thompson-Brun engagement

Scott and Patty Thompson of Fruita are happy to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Brandy Nicole Thompson, to Justin Michael Brun, son of Kevin Brun of Carbondale and Rick and LuAnn Kuester of Rifle.

Brandy graduated from Mesa State College in 2007 with a degree in sociology. She is employed at The Law Office of Billie M. Castle as a paralegal.

Justin graduated from Mesa State College in 2005 with a major in mass communications. He is employed in the energy services industry.

The wedding will be held at Two Rivers Winery in August 2009.

Justin and Brandy will honeymoon in Scotland. They plan to reside in Fruita.

15 graduate CLETA

Fifteen students graduated during recent commencement services of the Colorado Law Enforcement Training Academy at Colorado Mountain College. Cumulatively 95 percent of students who start the program finish successfully. And out of those who graduate, 98 percent pass the state POST test the first time they take it. Well over half of the law enforcement officers in Garfield and Pitkin counties have gone through CLETA training at Colorado Mountain College.
