On Friday, Sept. 11, the Book Train in downtown Glenwood Springs will feature local author Jay Cowan, who wrote the book €œHunter S. Thompson: An Insider€™s View of Deranged, Depraved, Drugged out Brilliance.€Cowan will be signing books from 5-7 p.m.

Mountain Regional Housing benefit
Dance to Bobby Mason & H3 (Harding, Hills & Hawes), from 6-10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at the Gathering Center, located at the Church at Carbondale on Snowmass Drive.The event is a benefit for the Mountain Regional Housing Corp., which provides down payment assistance, free homebuyer education classes in English and Spanish, foreclosure prevention referrals and landlord-tenant assistance.

Cody Brickell fundraiser
The sixth annual Cody Brickell Miniature Golf Fundraiser will be held at Johnson€™s Park on Saturday, Sept. 12, from noon to 9 p.m.The proceeds will benefit the Glenwood Springs wrestling program.
There will be a silent auction and cash donations are welcome. Entry fee is $5 for a single and $20 for a family.
