Mainstream media bias at work
I am surprised, appalled, disgusted and disappointed in the media's use of the “t” word in connection with the arrest of Najibullah Zazi here in Colorado along with two other suspects.Has it not been but a few months since Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano banished the use of the words “terror, terrorism and terrorist” from the English language. Some quotes from recent headlines and news releases include “terror plot suspects”, “FBI Arrests Three Men in Terror Plot”, “Terror Plot Suspect Admits to al Qaeda Ties”, “Officials worry NY terror plot still alive”, “terrorism probe focuses on Afghan man” … just to cite a few.
What the “mainstream media” really means is that there is a “man made disaster” probe underway and that Mr. Zazi is a “person of interest” since me may actually be a “man made disasterist.”
Isn't it about time for the President to step forward and apologize to the world, especially the Muslim world, for the “unfortunate” use of the “t” word by his media.

Tired of biting my tongue
Having tried to avoid joining the fray since the election, it appears my tongue has run out of blood from biting it and needs a brief respite. It is interesting how all of our problems manifested themselves on Jan. 20 of this year. Short-term memory loss? Trying to address some of these issues and the local vocals (fill in your favorite paranoid contributor) in 350 words is a daunting task. Just follow a thought and associate it with your favorite. Bush II gave us a “Food-safety” Czar, “Manufacturing” and “Swine flu” Czar, as well as an “Intelligence”, “Katrina”, “Aids”, “Cyber-security”, and “Regulatory” Czars, just to name a few of many. Czar you go.
Concerning regulating the financial industries, special thanks goes out to republicans; former Texas Senator Phil Gramm, retired Rep. Jim Leach from Iowa, and former congressman Tom Bliley of Virginia who gave us the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999 (The Financial Services Modernization Act) that deregulated the banking industry and eliminated the Glass-Steagall Act enacted in 1933 to prevent greedy money grabbers from ripping off the masses. Lehman Brothers failed last year, way before Obama was elected, let alone in office. Long live deregulation! I'm surprised the rest of the world still talks to us after ripping them off in such a monstrous fashion.
All of you against government health and welfare involvement, please send your refusal to accept Medicare and Social Security to the Treasury Dept.
Regarding the President's address to the school children, I find it extremely ironic that certain factions will fight tooth and nail to protect their children from Obama indoctrination. Yet folks like Juanita Williams have no trouble exposing absolute innocent minds to biblical and religious indoctrination, basically from birth. It's amazing to me that children are allowed to knock on my door and preach fear of eternal damnation should I not believe the way they do.
Final thought: Billions of people didn't shower or eat or put on shoes today. Did you? Then stop your complaining! You have the best life the world has ever known.
