GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado — Battle Mountain's football team will visit Stubler Memorial tonight with a huge monkey off its back. Last week, the Huskies broke in their new field in Edwards with a 37-13 drubbing of Highland to snap a 19-game losing streak.
In facing red-hot Glenwood Springs, Battle Mountain might have trouble extending its newfound winning streak.
After an 0-2 start, the Demons have caught fire in recent weeks.
Wins over Eagle Valley, Delta and Montezuma-Cortez have vaulted Glenwood into a three-way tie for first atop the 3A Western Slope League. Steamboat Springs and Palisade sit beside the Demons with 3-0 league records.
The Demons crushed Cortez, 42-8, last week, getting three touchdowns and more than 100 yards rushing from running back Tyler Thulson in the process.

Bears look to right ship against Montezuma-Cortez
