Charles David Berton “Dave” Bullock, 70, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2009, at his home in Overton, Nevada. He was born Oct. 16, 1938, in Denver, Colorado to Harry Charles and Medea Irene Smith Bullock.
On Feb. 20, 1960, he married Paralee Anne “Perry” Kelly in Coeur d'lene, Idaho. Dave grew up in Denver. He served in the U.S. Air Force at the end of the Korean Conflict. He raised his family in Rifle, Colorado working as a police officer, specializing in juvenile crime prevention and activities. He later worked as a correctional office, always believing that he could make a difference in the lives of the young men he was responsible for.
He enjoyed bowling, golfing and woodworking. He loved the Broncos and the Rockies. He will be remembered as a generous man who was always willing to help his neighbor.
Survivors include his wife, Perry of Overton, NV; two sons and two daughters: Renee (Dickie) Gross of Overton, NV; Dave (Christi) of Silt, CO; Kim (J.D.) Frantz of Silt, CO; Gregory (Maria) of Rifle, CO; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother and two sisters: Howard (Geri) of Eau Claire, WI; Marie Myrick of Elizabeth, CO and Mary Joyce Myrick of Aurora, CO. He was preceded in death by both parents, one nephew, Jim Myrick and one grandson, Mikie Gross.
A memorial reception will be held Saturday, Oct. 17, at 2 p.m. at the Rifle Elks Lodge.
