New Castle climate action event

On Saturday. Oct. 24, New Castle residents will gather to form the number “350” as part of the largest global day of climate action ever. The group will be photographed. People should meet promptly at 10 a.m. at Alder Park in New Castle.

The event — one of more than 3,000 rallies in more than 150 nations — is coordinated by 350.org to urge world leaders to take fast and effective action on global warming. This is the first global campaign ever organized around a scientific data point: 350 parts per million CO2 is the safe upper limit for the atmosphere according to the latest scientific data.

The group will be photographed while forming the number “350”. The photo will be sent to local, regional, national and international elected officials before the important climate meetings this December in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Event is sponsored by the New Castle Climate Action Advisory Commission.

Tough times workshop

Dr. David Berceli returns to the Roaring Fork Valley with his presentation: “Transcend Your Toughest Times,” The Trauma Release Exercise.

Dates of the event are Oct. 24-25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ramada Inn in Glenwood Springs in the Dakota Room.

“Transcend Your Toughest Times” shows the effects stress, anxiety and trauma have on our mental well-being and our physical health. Trauma is par for the course in any life, but even the most damaging events can become a pathway to a more fulfilling and meaningful experience.

David Berceli's Trauma Release Process can be utilized by anyone, anywhere, even when professional help is beyond the individual's reach. A person may use the process either as a stand-alone trauma release program or in conjunction with other modalities.

David Berceli, Ph.D. is a world-renowned authority in trauma and trauma release. He developed TRE (Trauma Release Exercise) program based on the body's natural response to discharging trauma, which he now teaches to professionals.

The fee for the both days is $259 at the door. Contact Jaclyn or Jan at 384-2880 to preregister.
