Two ballot questions posed by special districts in Garfield County failed in mail ballot voting in Tuesday's election, according to unofficial final election results released by the Garfield County Clerk's Office.
A “de-Brucing” question for the Silt Water Conservancy District was rejected by a 55 percent to 45 percent margin, 1,010 votes to 823.
Ballot Issue 5A would have allowed the district to keep and spend revenues above Colorado TABOR (Taxpayer Bill of Rights) limits.
Also Tuesday, voters rejected a recreation fee proposed by the Consolidated Metro District of Battlement Mesa. Ballot Issue 5B failed nearly 70 percent to 30 percent, 668 votes against to 288 in favor.
Election results remain unofficial until canvassing is complete by county election officials.
