Jesse L. Boyce III
Jesse L Boyce III died Nov. 6, 2009. He was 57.
Jesse was a scientist, and he saw much of the world that way.
He received his doctorate in biology in 1984 from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland.
He led an incredibly adventurous life; he had put himself through graduate school working the oil rigs throughout Africa.
Jesse had grown up in Grand Junction, attended, and later was a teacher at, the Colorado Rocky Mountain School. He also worked with the Aspen Global Change Institute before starting Internet Outfitting the first Internet company in the valley. He had lived in Europe for many years.
After meeting his love, Phyllis, at The Aspen Community School when Gordon was 4, theirs became a great love. They married in June of 1997. Together they raised a glorious son, Gordon, who is now 21.
Jesse was a humble man but one of great intellect, humor and grace, he lived and died with those qualities very present.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis June Bronson, Ph.D. and adored step-son, Gordon Bronson, both of Aspen; daughter, Elizabeth of Albuquerque; brother, Tom of Miami, Fla., sisters Julie of Grand Junction and Shelley of Telluride.
Memorial service will be at ACES, Nov. 19 at 5 p.m.
